Studio 10 Dance Center has been under the successful direction of Pat Holbrook for 39 years in San Antonio, TX. Studio 10 is the home of Co.Motion Dance Company under Pat's artistic direction for the last 16 years.

Pat has danced professionally with the Texas Civic Ballet Company in principle roles in all the major ballets such as The Nutcracker, Swan Lake and Peter and the Wolf to name a few. She was a principle dancer in the New York Opera Iada. Pat has won many dance and gymnastic awards, taking first place and overall prizes.

Pat has trained with only the best teachers. Her love is Musical Theater and she has choreographed for many musicals including Cinderella, Annie, Little Shop of Horrors, My fair Lady, South Pacific, Jesus Christ Superstar and Scrooge with the San Antonio Pops Orchestra and at the San Pedro Playhouse.

Pat is a 39-year life member of TATD (Texas Association of Teachers of Dance) where membership is by examination only. She has been on TATD's board of directors and has been on their National Faculty, teaching teachers and students from all over the U.S. She recently was a Master teacher at the workshop Tap It Up and is a judge for major competition, such as Rainbow Connection and Starlight. Pat is also on the San Antonio Dance Umbrella board of directors.

Pat has two sons, Chris and Curtis, who also dance, sing and act. Chris spent a year in New York doing commercials for television. He is now pursuing a career in the music industry in Los Angeles, composing and writing his own original music and lyrics with his band Gas Station Robber. Curtis has danced on Broadway and toured with the musicals Footloose and Fosse.

Kirsten Burandt
Tap Jazz Hip Hop
Ballet

Kirsten has been dancing since the age of 2. A previous student of Pat Holbrook, by age 12, Kirsten was on Studio 10's competition team for 5 years.

Kirsten attended Texas State University and earned a Bachelor of Science in Dance Education. She is certified in dance by the EXCET test. In thee summer of 2005, Kirsten received another certification in Tap through Texas Association of Teachers of Dance.

Kirsten travels and studies in Chicago and attends workshops all over Texas. She is a part of a teacher-based company, Rhythym In Motion, directed by Barbara Ryan-Phyllips. Kristen believes in furthering her dance education through constant training and studying with Jay Fagan, Rhonda Miller and Barbara Ryan-Phillips.

Kirsten is a choreographer and vocalist for Show Band Max Class and the Class Act. She is also a wild card winner of the "Gimme The Mike" competition. She is currently the dance team director and dance teacher for the Fine Arts Magnet Program at Thomas Jefferson High School.


Mary Rae Huddleston
Tap Ballet

Mary Rae began her love of dance at the age of three. She studied jazz and tap for 19 years under Teri Wilkerson at Dance Discovery Studios. After she began teaching, she soon expanded her performance experience to Musical Theater at McMurry University. She was a member of Chameleon Jazz Company for three years until she moved to Austin to pursue a degree at Texas State University. While there, Mary Rae had the privilege of being a Strutter under the direction of Barbara Tidwell. After Receiving a degree in Interior Design, she moved to San Antonio where she continues to share her excitement and love of tap with her students. She continues to further her education by attending workshops and training all over the country.


Diana Sandoval
Hip Hop
Jazz

Diana Sandoval began dancing at the age of three at her grandmother's studio in Piedras Negras Coah. Since then, she has won several awards, including first place in an international dance competition in Monterrey, Mexico for two years in a row. She was later asked to perform as a special guest for the governor of Coahuila for his birthday celebration. She coreographed award-winning dances and participated in competition with numerous dance teams around San Antonio. She is currently a marketing student at UTSA and has been teaching at Studio 10 for the past two years.

 


LiGuya Perkins
Voice Musical Theater

LiGaya has been singing for quite some time. She has toured Europe and Japan with the band "Riot", a classic metal group. LiGaya is also part of several vocal groups, such as The Message Gospel Group, Pro-Zak Players Improv Group, max Class and the Class Act, among others. Very passionate about performing, LiGaya has done several shows for the Josephine Theatre, such as Dream Girls, Ain't Misbehaving, and Smokey Joe's Cafe. Part owner of ASL Productions, she provides triple threat workshops for upcoming young artists. LiGaya was the featured vocalist in LiGaya's Muse, produced by Terpsichore Entertainment.

 

 


Tara Smartnick
Jazz Contemporary Lyrical

Tara is originally from Albuquerque, NM and graduated from the Public Academy for Performing Arts, where she majored in dance and video editing. She has been studying dance since the age of three and holds national titles in team dance, solo work, ballroom, and for her own choreography. Tara has awards in the areas of contemporary, jazz, ballet, hip hop, lyrical, pom, mambo, cha cha, rumba, swing, salsa, tango and bolero. She earned second place and a college scholarship for her ballet solo at the Contest of Champions Nationals in Orlando, FL in 2003. After winning first place in Junior American Rhythm at People's Choice 2005 in Arizona, Tara and her partner were invited to join the Junior Olympic Ballroom team. Later that hear, Tara was one of 15 dancers chosen from around the United States to participate in JJ Villar's "The Road to Hollywood" held in Los Angeles, CA, where she was able to study and perform many forms of dance. she moved to San Antonio, TX in 2006 and is currently studying Media Arts at Northwest Vista College. Tara dances professional with Xibulee Dance Company and teaches jazz, lyrical, latin rhythms and contemporary in the San Antonio Area.


 

Sarah Starweather
Jazz Contemporary Lyrical

Sarah was born and raised in Houston, TX. She began dancing at the age of three and has trained in balled and jazz at the Kingwood Gymnastics and Dance Academy. She continued studying there until High School where she became the Colonel for the Dance Team. Sarah danced professionally with Ashley Liane Dance Company in St. Louis, MO and is now a sophomore at UTSA majoring in Pre-Med, Psychology.

 

 


 

Tyrone (Jazpuh) Cabalo
Hip Hop

Tyrone found his passion for Hip Hop/R&B dancing at the age of three. Tyrone was born in the Phillippines and lived there until the age of 5, when his family moved to San Antonio. He was part of the Phillippines Dance Company of San Antonio for seven years. He coreographs for High School dance teams, Quincenieras and his own competition Hip Hop crew, iEiry (Eurythmicz).

 

 

 


 

Priscilla Martinez
Ballet Pointe

Two-time winner of the Monticello Award for Choreography, Priscilla began her career as a dancer studying Ballet with San Kurjkian, Michael Vernon and Ella Kunikova and Flamenco with Teresa Champion. In New York City, she added Theater to her stage experience.

 

 

 


 

Jennifer Hildegard Castaneda
Ballet Pointe

Jennifer has eight years of training with the Royal Academy of Dance program. Seasonal company class instruction by Lauren Anderson (Houston Ballet), Dorio Lopez (Houston Ballet) and Phillip Broomhead (Houston Ballet) during performance of San Antonio Metropolitan Ballet's production of Cinderella. She graduated from the University of Utah with four years of character dance training.

 

 

 


 

Melanie Kolb
Office Manager

Melanie is originally from Houston, TX where she studied gymnastics and dance through high school. She moved to San Antonio to attend the University of Texas at San Antonio. Melanie has been the office manager at Studio 10 Dance Center since August 2007.
