Student Placement

Placement of each student is determined by the technical ability, desire and individual needs. Improvement in dance technique varies with individuals as does physical growth. Dance classes are not grades as school grades. Advancement in dance depends on many factors:

physical anatomy
desire
attitude
encouragement or discouragement from teacher or family
regular attendance
the number of classes per week one studies

Student class placement is at the discretion of the instructor. Studio 10 reserves the right to refuse or terminate enrollment.

Class Promptness

It is important to the student's progress that he or she be prepared to dance on time. Attendance is taken at the beginning of each class. Good attendance is imperative, as consistent tardiness will result in a level reduction. Students more than 15 minutes late will not be admitted into class, as they are not properly warmed up and have missed many technical exercises.

Students should arrive 10-15 minutes prior to class time. It is imperative that they be called for promptly following their class.

All students must wait inside the studio for parents. This is for the student's protection.

Performances & Recitals

All classes perform during the month of December at area Malls & Nursing Homes.

We hold a recital every other year in June. Most students participate in it, but participation is not mandatory. Our dance company performs in competitions, conventions and events around San Antonio, plus a spring concert.

The staff strives to give quality instruction in the dance and gymnastic arts on an individualized basis with the student's personal achievement level at its focal point. Emphasis is placed on making our school one where graduates will have the necessary training needed if he or she wishes to pursue a professional career in the field of dance or gymnastics.

Students who wish to take dance or gymnastics as a form or exercise will greatly improve coordination, perception, poise and above all, a sense of achievement and personality. Both types of students receive the same careful training.

Parent Responsibilities

The studio makes every effort to update parents and keep them informed by handing out flyers, posting signs and updating all information on the website. It is ultimately the parents' responsibility to stay informed with any new information.

Video Taping

Video taping is allowed at specified times of the year. Please contact the studio office or go to the studio calendar for times and dates.
